Description

The ABB Uvisor-MFD (Multi Fuel-Flame Detector) is an intelligent, integrated solution for flame monitoring in combustion systems. It functions as an advanced flame signal processor, engineered specifically for high-safety and high-performance applications in industrial boilers, large utility boilers, and other furnaces that burn a variety of fuels.

This unit acts as a "Two-Systems-in-One" device, capable of simultaneously processing flame signals from two separate scanner heads. This dual-channel capability allows it to monitor flames from different perspectives or different fuels at the same time, regardless of the sensor type (Ultraviolet or Infrared) or the electrical signal . 

Feature

Dual-Channel Processing ("Two-Systems-in-One"): A significant feature is its ability to simultaneously process signals from two independent scanner heads (e.g., UV, IR, or a combination).

Fast Flame Failure Response Time (F-FFRT): Offers configurable, rapid response times (typically 1 to 5 seconds) to flame failures, enabling quick and safe shutdown of fuel supply to prevent dangerous unburnt fuel accumulation.

Communication Capabilities: Provides external access to flame data and diagnostics via standard communication protocols like MODBUS (RS232/RS485).

Compatibility

MODBUS (RS232/RS485): This is a commonly supported protocol, allowing the Uvisor-MFD to send flame quality data, diagnostic information, and receive parameter adjustments from external DCS or HMI systems.

Analog Outputs (0-10V / 4-20mA): Isolated and scalable analog outputs provide continuous flame intensity signals, compatible with standard analog input modules of any DCS or PLC.

Compatible Scanner Heads (Sensors):The Uvisor-MFD is designed to work with various ABB Uvisor series scanner heads. These include both Ultraviolet (UV) and Infrared (IR) solid-state sensors.
