Application
The FDPI-02 enables a single RS-485 bus (often utilizing the Modbus RTU protocol) to connect several drives in a daisy-chain configuration.
The FDPI-02 allows an external, separate panel interface (like ABB's own control panels or third-party HMIs) to be mounted remotely in a more convenient and safe location.
The FDPI-02 provides the necessary RS-485 bus interface for a PC to connect to individual drives or a network of drives.
The FDPI-02, via its RS-485 bus connectivity, allows drive information to be shared with higher-level control systems (e.g., BMS, DCS, SCADA) that support Modbus RTU communication.
In essence, the ABB FDPI-02 is applied wherever seamless, extended, and flexible communication expansion for ABB low voltage AC drives is required, be it for local access, networked control, or system-wide integration.
