Function

The 1757-SRM-B works in pairs. Two identical ControlLogix chassis are set up, one designated as the "primary" and the other as the "secondary" (backup). A 1757-SRM-B module is installed in each of these chassis.

These two 1757-SRM-B modules are connected via a fiber-optic cable (e.g., 1757-SRCxxx series). This cable serves as the vital synchronization link.

Key Feature

Enables the creation of a redundant ControlLogix system by allowing two ControlLogix controllers (one primary, one secondary) to operate in a hot-standby configuration.

Actively synchronizes the memory, I/O states, and program logic between the primary and secondary controllers via a dedicated fiber-optic link (1757-SRCxxx cables). This ensures the secondary is always up-to-date.

Description

The 1757-SRM is an A-B ProcessLogix and ControlLogix module that is used for implementing controller redundancy to increase a process system availability. This is done by employing a secondary controller synchronized with a primary controller installed on Two (2) different ControlLogix chassis.

The chassis size, the modules installed and positioning, System power supply and module revisions should match each other.
