The Allen-Bradley 1746-OB16 is a Discrete output module that is compatible with for use with the SLC500 product family. This module features Sixteen (16) 24VDC output channels that is used to energize electrical devices for implementing manual and automatic control of the process or machines.The 1746-OB16P may be installed in the local chassis, along the processor or act to a distributed I/O station, along a communication adapter.

FEATURE

Backplane Current Draw: Has a relatively low current draw from the backplane (e.g., 0.280 A at 5V DC).

Low Off-State Leakage Current: Minimizes current leakage when the output is in the off state (typically around 1 mA maximum).

Compact Design: Single-slot module that easily installs into any slot of an SLC 500 chassis (except the processor slot)

Status Indicators: LEDs likely present to indicate the on/off status of each of the 16 outputs.

Compatibility

• Wiring and Connected Devices: It is compatible with 24V DC sinking (NPN) output devices that fall within its voltage (10-50V DC) and current (e.g., 1.5 A per point at 30°C) specifications. Some sources indicate it can also be used for sourcing outputs depending on the wiring configuration. 

• Other SLC 500 I/O Modules: The 1746-OB16 can be used in conjunction with other 1746 series I/O modules (both input and output) within the same SLC 500 chassis to create a comprehensive control system.
