  • The EPRO PR6423 011-010 CON021 is a sophisticated eddy current sensor system that is crucial for monitoring the health of rotating machinery in demanding industrial environments. Manufactured by EPRO (now part of Emerson), this system utilizes the principle of eddy currents to provide highly accurate, non-contact measurements of a machine's dynamic and static shaft parameters.



  • The system typically consists of a probe (the PR6423/011-010 component), an extension cable, and a signal conditioner (the CON021, which processes the raw signal from the probe). The probe generates an alternating magnetic field at its tip. When a conductive material, such as a rotating shaft, comes within the sensor's range, eddy currents are induced in the target material. These eddy currents create a secondary magnetic field that opposes the sensor's field. The signal conditioner measures the changes in this magnetic field interaction, which are directly proportional to the distance between the sensor tip and the target surface.
