Product Feature


Genius Bus Master/Slave Capability: Can operate as either a master or slave device on the Genius Bus, offering flexibility in system architecture. This allows a host PLC (like a GE Fanuc Series 90-30 or 90-70) to communicate with and control Field Control I/O modules.

Hot-Swappable: Designed for hot-swapping, allowing the BIU to be replaced without powering down the entire system or affecting other modules on the Genius Bus. This feature is critical for maintaining high availability.


Distributed I/O Management: Manages the communication and data exchange for up to 16 Field Control I/O modules connected to it. It collects input data, distributes output commands, and handles module-level diagnostics.

High-Speed Communication: Facilitates high-speed and reliable data transfer over the Genius Bus, ensuring timely updates for process control.



Comprehensive Diagnostics: Provides extensive on-board diagnostics for both the BIU itself and the connected Field Control I/O modules. This includes detection of module failures, short circuits, open circuits, and power supply issues, greatly aiding in troubleshooting and maximizing uptime.

Configuration Flexibility: Configurable through GE Fanuc programming software, allowing users to define communication parameters, I/O module types, and diagnostic thresholds.
