GSD or DTM Files
A General Slave Data (GSD) file or Device Type Manager (DTM) file is provided by the manufacturer for each type of PROFIBUS device. These files contain crucial information about the device, including parameters such as baud rates, timing specifications, and available options like diagnostics and data lengths.
In Foxboro DCS, the GSD/DTM files facilitate the setup of communication with the slave devices. These files can be imported into the Foxboro DCS Control Editors, where they assist the device editor in selecting supported options and configuring operational parameters effectively.

FBM Capacity
For detailed specifications regarding the number of supported devices and maximum I/O per device, please refer to the Field Control Processor 280 (FCP280) Sizing Guidelines and the accompanying Excel® Workbook (B0700FY). The host FCP280 can establish up to 1,000 connections to I/O data accessed by each FBM222 over PROFIBUS-DP networks, with a minimum slave interval of 250 ms.
