It is part of the Allen-Bradley/Rockwell Automation SLC 500 product line. It draws its power for operation from the backplane of the SLC 500 system that it is installed in, and it can draw different amounts of backplane current at different backplane voltage ratings. For example, at a backplane voltage rating of 5 Volts DC, the 1746-NIO4V analog combination module can draw up to 55 milliamps of backplane current, and at a backplane voltage rating of 24 Volts DC, this module can draw up to 115 milliamps of backplane current. This module is a single-slot module


  • The Allen-Bradley/Rockwell Automation 1746-NIO4V analog combination module from the SLC 500 series has 2 outputs that use voltage only, but its 2 inputs can use voltage or current and the users can program the inputs to use either type of power depending on what they need for their applications. Neither the inputs nor the outputs on the 1746-NIO4V analog combination module are individually isolated. The inputs can be configured with DIP switches. The 4 I/O channels on the 1746-NIO4V analog combination module are identified with number 0 to 3, and the inputs are Channels 0 and 1 while the outputs are Channels 2 and 3.
