With Autonomous Mobile Robots (AMR), the situation changes. For example, ABB’s Flexley Mover P604 doesn’t follow lines on the floor—it uses 3D Visual SLAM navigation to map its surroundings and adjust routes on the fly. That’s real Intelligent Mobility.

Practical benefits we’ve seen on the floor include:

• The P604 can carry up to 600 kg, enough for most pallets or containers used internally

• Navigation is flexible—if a path is blocked, it finds another way without stopping production

• Safety scanners slow down or stop the robot automatically near humans

• Multiple robots can work together efficiently, controlled through Mobile Automation software
